A beautiful, fresh morning set a great stage for our guided walk in Anagach Wood which brought its own rewards. Red Squirrels were still visible in their favourite corner in the south-west fringe of the wood despite a large-scale orienteering event, which also stirred up the Roe Deer.
The Spey is starting to get busy again after a lull, with a small party of Goosander visible from the old Spey Bridge as they preened themselves on the top of the few boulders left poking out of the swollen river.
Away from the orienteers, large mixed parties of tits provided great views, particularly of Long-tailed Tits. We also got numerous good views of Treecreepers which seem to have had a very succesful season, along with Goldcrests which are everywhere just now.
